Homes - can't get broadband?

National Gigabit Voucher Scheme

The Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme is a £67 million scheme. Gigabit vouchers can be used by small businesses and the local communities surrounding them to contribute towards the installation cost of a gigabit-capable connection.

Businesses can claim up to £2,500 against the cost of a connection either individually or as part of a group project. Residents can also benefit from the scheme with a voucher worth £500 as part of a group project.

National Better Broadband Scheme

The Better Broadband Scheme seeks to assist those homes that experience broadband speeds of less than 2 Mbps. The scheme may facilitate access to a basic service offering down load speeds of 10 Mbps.

A subsidy of up to £350 is available towards a basic broadband installation to both homes and businesses that will not benefit from superfast broadband within the next twelve months. The Better Broadband Scheme will run to 31 December 2019.

Community Fibre Partnerships (CFP)

An Openreach initiative whereby remaining communities, businesses or households, not included in fibre roll-out plans can co-fund an infrastructure upgrade. Essentially, Openreach invest to a level that is commercially viable to them and then the community funds the remaining balance.

Marches Viable Clusters Broadband Project (European Structural Investment Funds)

Following the Open Market Review, where service provision was mapped, suitable clusters are currently in the process of being identified.
